It seems so crazy that this semester is already almost over and summer is starting! It was great to "meet" you guys and if I recognize any voices in the future, I'll acknowledge our acquaintance.  ðŸ˜€ðŸ˜€ðŸ˜€
My last 2 lessons were interrelated to each other. You guys are aware of one because I presented it in class. 1st grade writing, using the doctor analogy to use checklists to "check-up" and proofread partner's writing sample.  I also taught this lesson in class. It was fun and I learned a lot of things!
I really enjoyed the classroom I worked with this semester and I wish I was able to spend much more time with them. My cooperating teacher is super awesome and talented. I'd say MASTER level. She had those 1st grades hanging off the edge of their seats to her next direction. It very educational.
So my last lesson plan was a small group lesson that would focus on the struggling students that have a hard time consistently using capital and lower case letters. Using an online review of a product the students get excited about, Ninja Turtles, I lead discussion to the capital letters at the beginning of the sentence and the capital letters at the beginning of important words such as names of people, place of things. We practice identifying the capital letters by highlighting each kind of capital letter and distinguish them. Then the small group of students return to the main tables as "Capital Specialists". They would teach quickly to the rest of their tables.   A combined closure of both lessons would be to "follow doctor orders" and correct their now checked and prescribed papers.

  1. I have been fortunate enough to have an amazing CT as well. It makes the experience worth so much to have someone you can really learn from. Your last lesson sounds like it would be very engaging for students and it teachers something that you will need to know for the rest of your life!
Good luck with your summer classes if you are taking any!
