Week 1
Hello!
My name is Ruzana Tadzhibayev but I simply go by Rose. I live in Columbia Missouri with my family. I have a 4 year old boy named Konstantine and am in a fresh new relationship after a nasty divorce. I am an refugee immigrant from Uzbekistan and moved to the U.S. as a toddler. I am fluent in Russian. I love to garden, sing, read, go camping, hiking, swimming, anything outdoors...
I have my A.A.S in Early Care and Education and my B.A in Psychology and Minor Education. I currently own and operate my own in-home childcare center for 5 years now and I really love being able to teach and still be my own boss. I want to get my M.A.T. in Teaching so that I can eventually teach elementary. I love all age groups but I chose 1st grade. I hope this class with teach me more about reading and comprehension; as well as how to teach reading. I am excited to participate in Field Experience and looking forward to learning with and from all of you!

It's nice to meet you Rose! Do you have any early memories from when you were a toddler in Russia or did you leave too early?
ReplyDeleteThank you Carrie!Great to meet you too! I don't really have any memories that are clear. Everything I remember was guided by stories from my parents. I came to the States right after my 3ed birthday. I wish I did!
DeleteI Rose, 1st grade is a struggle for me! I have been subbing full time this past school year, and have had the opportunity to teach pre-k-12th grade. I think my "sweet spot" in teaching is 3rd-5th grade. I really like kids that age! Good luck to ya!
ReplyDeleteI currently teach preschool between 3-5 so my experience with 1st graders was highly enjoyable. I felt that the children were more prepared that the age group I work with now. I enjoyed the older grades too but the 1st graders just grabbed my heart! :)
DeleteFirst grade is my true calling...there is nothing better than teaching a child to read! Nice to meet you, Rose. Welcome to class!
